Name – Sam Bailey

Q: What is your job title?

Sam: “Production Team Leader.”

Q: What does your job involve at Serchem?

Sam: “My job involves the organisation of packing chemicals, ensuring the quality control is to the highest standard required for customers in the healthcare and professional hygiene sectors.”

Q: What is the best thing about working at Serchem and why?

Sam: “This has to be the people I work with – from the office staff to the production team. It’s great to know that if you’re having an off day, everyone will work to turn it around and put a smile back on your face. Shout out to Ben for showing me the Serchem way!”

Q: Tell us an interesting story about something in your life?

Sam: “When I was in first school I attempted to climb a brick wall with a skipping rope thinking I was spider man! Unfortunately, it didn’t work out in my favour. I fell and ended up in A&E.”

Q: What advice would you give to your younger self?

Sam: “Smile through the hard times and be present in the good times.”

Q: What is your favourite food?

Sam: “Pizza with garlic and herb dip.”

Q: Do you have any hobbies and why do you do them?

Sam: “I love playing all sports with friends and family but my favourite is golf – even though it is supposed to be relaxing but is in fact the complete opposite.”

Q: What are your aspirations for the future?

Sam: “Travel the world and try as many things as possible from food to experiences, and enjoy life.”

Q: What is your favourite quote?

Sam: “You only fail once you stop trying.”

Q: Where’s the most amazing place you’ve travelled and why?

Sam: “The most amazing place I have travelled to is Val Thorens with the lads skiing and not having a care in the world. It was the most incredible sunset I have ever witnessed . . . and with such great people. Hopefully there are more to come in the future.”

Q: What advice would you give to the next generation of the workforce which could come through Serchem?

Sam: “Work hard, enjoy the process and take notes.”
