Team Serchem vs Three Peaks Challenge

Team Serchem took on the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the mental health charity Mind, starting at 6am on Saturday 10th September 2022, and aiming to complete the challenge within 24 hours.

This event is where participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of England – Scafell Pike, Scotland – Ben Nevis and Wales – Snowdon.

The challenge was initially suggested by Senior Supervisor Production & Packing, Ben Edwards, but the rest of the team were quick to sign up. They included Dominic Arnold, Sam Bailey, Kaine Coldicutt, Garry Horrigan, Gary Roberts and driver, Amanda Davidson.

Amanda said “Many of us here at Serchem have benefitted from the help and support offered by Mind over the past few years. I was shocked to read that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem every year”.

We can confirm that they completed the challenge within the 24 hours. Their finishing time was 23 hours, 51 minutes and 1 second, but they would have smashed the time had the M6 not been closed and the detour not had roadworks, which added a couple of hours to the travelling time.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. They have already raised so much and are blown away with everyone’s generosity. The team initially hoped to get about £500, but we are pleased to announce that they have raised over £3000 to date.
